Huntsville, AL – The Huntsville Sports Commission (HSC) will host the 2020 Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) State Wrestling Championships February 13th – February 15th at the Von Braun Center Probst Arena.
This will be the 12th year that the AHSAA 65th State Wrestling Championships is being hosted by the HSC in Huntsville. Last year’s tournament had approximately 1,100 participants and a $425,000 economic impact. This year’s championships are projected to have an even larger impact.
Ralph Stone, the Huntsville Sports Commission Executive Director said, “This is a great event for Huntsville. This tournament brings wrestlers, coaches and their families to Huntsville from all over the state and truly gives them the opportunity to experience Huntsville’s venues, hotels and restaurants. We enjoy hosting this tournament and strive to make it more exciting each year.”
Doors open at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 13th and 7:30 am on Friday and Saturday, February 14th and 15th. Security screening will take place upon arena entry. Admission to the tournament is $10 per day and available for purchase in the Prost Arena lobby following security screening.

This year’s tournament includes wrestlers from each Alabama high school division, 1A7A. A 1A-5A, 6A and 7A state champion will be crowned on Saturday, February 15th.
