Inaugural Zero Zero Boo! Pickleball Tournament Set to Take Place This Weekend

The Inaugural Zero Zero Boo! Pickleball Tournament will take place this weekend, October 10th and 11th, at the Sandra Moon Community Complex. Tournament play will begin at 8:00 am each day weather permitting.

The tournament will be a round robin format with men & women doubles playing on Saturday and mixed doubles playing on Sunday. The skill and age events are arranged age 12+ with 3.0-5.0 skill levels and age 50+ with 3.0-5.0 skill levels.

Sandra Moon Community Complex has 12 brand new dedicated courts with windscreens to provide high quality pickleball play. While registration has closed, there is no admission fees to the tournament. All spectators are welcome and encouraged to check out the action. Pile High Grill will have food available for purchase from their food truck on Saturday and New South Hotdogs & Sushi will be there Sunday.

The tournament will benefit the Alabama Sports Officials Foundation (ASOF). The ASOF will provide financial scholarships to children of sports officials. Their financial goal to distribute a minimum of $4500 each year in scholarships.

By Alabama state ordinance players, coaches, officials and spectators over the age of five are required to wear a mask or other facial covering that covers his/her nostrils and mouth at all times except when a player or official is directly participating in the athletic activity. A minimum of six feet of social distancing is required.
